Indoctrination... I knew it. Whatever you are, as one Admiral to another, I have refused to give into your clear attempt at psychological conditioning. This list you've filled me with a desire to make and address to you... While I may have had the compulsion, I've also made sure it's been thoroughly disposed of.

As for this ridiculous human festivity known as 'Christmas', after having researched it, I find its traditions to be extraordinarily wasteful. Celebrating a squandering of resources on that magnitude is certainly not anything I have a desire to contribute to.

In the interests of promoting healthy discourse, how many of the rest of you find yourselves being held captive under a pretence which can only be regarded as flimsy, at best? My own file is... Lacking in conviction, to put it mildly. But it leaves me curious, nonetheless, as to just how widespread this could be.

I'd also like to suggest the wardening community set some sort of contest for those of us with expertise in scientific pursuits. Software engineering, structural design... That sort of thing. Competition is infinitely preferable to lethargy.

Oh, how joyful... Now we have a hostage crisis to deal with, as inevitably short-lived as it was ill-conceived.

Perhaps it is possible my situation is not purely imaginary in origin. I can't think I would even subconsciously desire to experience this level of widespread incompetence, after all.

While this is dealt with, I would appreciated it if whoever is in charge of the laboratory be made aware my advocate, Jean Grey, has authorised access for me. Those of you with scientific knowledge of gravitational distortions, electromagnetic amplification and dark energy, I'd be particularly interested in hearing from. I have an... [Some of you may recognise the voice as a slightly modulated version as that which had come from 'Professor Xen'. Except now she's back to being Admiral Xen, complete with the visor, suit and hood. The only facial features visible are two eyes which glow white, as usual.]

An... Interesting, if possibly hallucinatory, experience. And while I, by no means, recommend the virtues of superstition, I am thankful to have at least retained my personality, if not identity - or species.

While I remain sceptical as to the material validity of what happened, if any of you are pursuing a scientific investigation of these experiences, I would be happy to volunteer any relevant answers.

Considering how lacking in even basic English language skills some of you have transpired to be, a further written memorandum seemed both futile and counter-productive... [There's that mysteriously masked, if frightfully formal, resident, again. The one who almost always seems to address the screen with folded arms - just like she is now.]

While my stay has been relatively brief, it's been long enough to find a number of highly alarming shortfalls in command structure, efficiency and allocation of resources. The Admiral of your fleet is... Wistful, at best. While the ship's Captain has proven entirely absent. From this, I can only assume either automation or strict rules regarding communication with residents.

Neither is of use to either me or our community.

Therefore, I would like to request regular access to a laboratory to occupy my time. And, while more of a technological specialist than xenobiologist, but should the medical staff wish it, I would be only too happy to attempt upgrades to their equipment.

While imprisoned here against my will, of absolutely no benefit to my people while galactic warfare ensues, it seems my talents are going wasted. That the Admiral of your fleet claims to be doing this for reasons of ethical correction fits somewhere between amusing and tragic... My people and their allies find themselves locked in conflict against a threat of historic magnitude, yet this very ship, allegedly capable of transdimensional abduction, does nothing to intervene.

How conveniently ambiguous.

Nevertheless, if I must remain in captivity, I would welcome the opportunity to at least exercise my mental faculties. Astral cartography would be particularly desirable. Mapping our present location would, for instance, enable me to know how far we are from the nearest habitable colony.

I am particularly interested in those with knowledge of:

Omni-tool applications.
Mass effect field manipulation.
Mass relays.
Element zero.

Text: Formal Recommendations

During my short time here, I've discovered and, indeed, encountered, a number of unusual facts regarding our living conditions. While remaining sceptical as to the nature of my surroundings, it is in my interest to approach matters as I would in any other survival situation.

To that end, I with to contribute the following recommendations, which I believe will make life easier for all concerned:

(1) Some sort of working economy. Not in the form of money, but a principle my people live by. On our ships, a public area is designated in which unused belongings can be placed into storage lockers. A form of market, if you wish. Those in need may visit this location and take what they find. This way, resources are communal and the ship's society is more valued.

Implementing this would do much to alleviate a sense of futility and aggravation. At present, unless I am greatly mistaken, there seems to be nothing focused on generating collective harmony.

(2) Perusing network entries leaves me with the distinct impression of an absence of law. Or at least, co-operative agreement. I am willing to discuss how we operate this in our fleet, should any of those with 'warden' status wish to do so. I believe it can be adapted to a single vessel's operation with a minimum of fuss.

Video: Initialising Communication

[There is the sight of a masked, hooded being looking down at the screen. Nothing of the face can be seen, save for a pair of white eyes glowing through the obscured purple visor. Arms are folded and it's clearly not someone who's been seen before.

When this strange visitor happens to speak, it's with a weird, semi-modulated vocal effect and the circular light by where her mouth would be, under the mask, would start to blink.]

Quite why so many of you assume I would be willing to grant such inane requests, is beyond me... However, due to finding myself surrounded by a largely human demographic, I can only surmise such foolishness must be expected.

For future reference, my full title is Admiral Daro'Xen vas Moreh - or 'Admiral Xen', should you wish for brevity when addressing me.
